Grading Papers At The Dining Room Table #sol15

#sol15

I decided to show you a slice of my life today. Each pile of paper is one assignment, with the papers for each hour clipped together. On the computer, I am filling out an application for the Oklahoma Writing Project Summer Institute. The Oreos and milk are what sustain me through both of these processes.

Oh yeah. The knife. That’s what I used to cut up the cheese sandwich I ate before digging into the cookies. Really!

  1. I love this small slice, the oreos and milk to get you through the mountains of paper, and the explanation for the knife! Good luck with your application for the Oklahoma Writing Project Summer Institute. I never managed to squeeze one of these into my summer. Everyone comes away changed and invigorated from the experience.

  2. I hope the SI works out! I did one a few years ago, and if all goes as planned I’ll be participating in another one this summer. I had a wonderful time participating. And I definitely need to get to some grading tomorrow. 🙁

  3. After reading your post I looked at my living room floor and saw the pile of informational text, next to the markers and paper for the charts I was making for an upcoming PD sessions, all nestled next to piles of folded clean laundry that I’ve neglected to take upstairs and put away! Ahh, the life of an educator!

  4. Love it! That’s what my desk will look like tomorrow when I do report cards! Except I’ll have some coffee to get me through it all.
