#ELAOK English Teachers: Your Input Is Needed

 

 

 

 

 

The English/Language Arts (ELA) Standards Writing Committee has invited all teachers, administrators, parents, and community members to provide feedback on the current standards through a survey.

The purpose of the survey is to provide feedback on the current Priority Academic Student Skills (PASS) standards for ELA, to the Writing Committee in the development of new ELA academic standards for Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Fellow middle school teachers, you can download a copy of the Grades 5-8 PASS Vertical Progression Guide for ELA, which I was honored to help develop last summer, below:

Michelle Boyd Waters, M.Ed.

Michelle taught secondary ELA in public schools for 10 years. She served as an award-winning journalist before transitioning into education and is now Assistant Director of the OU Writing Center and a teacher consultant for the Oklahoma Writing Project. Michelle co-edited the Oklahoma English Journal for five years. She is a PhD candidate in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum at the University of Oklahoma.
