What went wrong with the CCSS, testing and evaluation systems?

According to Curmudgucation:

When you fail to anticipate how live human beings are going to react to your program, that is a failure of you and your program, not of those human beings.

I went into teaching with a certain expectation: That students were all as motivated as I and my Honors classmates were 20+ years ago. Some were, but some just wanted to sleep.

I had to re – evaluate my lessons and my teaching style over more than a year — and I’m still not done.

The morale of this story: It’s not about whether you make mistakes , but whether or not you’re willing to recogni-recognize you’ve made a mistake, learn from it, and change course.
